A community based club offering quality instruction in the practice of Aikido (the way of harmony) - a traditional defensive
martial art from Japan.
Who is it suitable for? Everyone as it does not depend on your size or strength. It is non-competitive.
What is it? A form of budo (the way of the warrior) from Japan, with an external physical focus on the use of joint locks and throws to neutralise an attacker. The practice is combined with an internal focus to harmonise mind, body and spirit. Often described as the art of peace or mindfulness on the move, Aikido also provides a path through experiential development to become a more resilient person. Aikido's philosophy can be applied in conflict resolution.
