On 30 November 2024 we celebrated sensei Lyn (Belmont Dojo) and Conrad's (City Dojo) grading to Yondan. Post grading drinks, provided by Lyn, included a saki shout and consumption of Lyn's home brew. The grading and dinner were well attended by Belmont Dojo aikidoka and friends🍾🍺 .
Lyn and Conrad sensei are the first enduring Riai Aikido members in Wellington to grade to Yondan since Riai Aikido Wellington was established by Henry Lynch Sensei in 1993. Also of note Lyn sensei is the first woman to grade to Yondan through the Riai Aikido Ryu (established 1977, Auckland).
